How to Use
A quick walkthrough of getting your portfolio set up.
1 · Load your holdings
You can start in three ways:
- Manual entry — for small portfolios, type symbol, quantity, currency, cost, and (optionally) location, target price, and purchase date.
- Excel upload — download the template, fill it in, and drop it back in. Column order: Symbol, Quantity, Currency, Cost, Location, Target Price, Purchase Date.
- Google Sheets — paste a public-view link and HoldVault imports the first sheet.
2 · Watch live prices come in
Prices are checked against Coinbase, MEXC, Kraken, Binance, and CoinGecko, in that order, using the first source that has a price for each coin. Gain/loss, market value, and P&L signals recompute automatically. Each price shows a small logo of the source it came from — click any price to verify against that source, refresh it individually, or enter a corrected price by hand.
3 · Change display currency
Use the currency switcher in the header to view every value — table, KPI cards, charts, and insights — in your preferred currency. The original amount and currency you actually paid is always shown underneath the converted Total Cost, so you never lose track of it.
4 · Add locations to track wallets separately
Same coin across multiple exchanges? Add a Location per row (e.g. "Coinbase", "Ledger Nano"). Filter chips let you slice the entire dashboard — table, charts, and insights — by asset or location.
5 · Export or print
Use Export → PDF or Excel from the header. PDF uses the browser's print dialog (choose "Save as PDF") and captures exactly what's on screen. Excel exports the currently visible filtered rows, converted into whichever currency is selected.
Privacy
No wallet connection. No sign-up. No server storage. All your holdings, snapshots, and preferences live in your browser's localStorage. If you clear browser data, the app resets.
