What we collect

Nothing. HoldVault does not require sign-up, does not use analytics or cookies to identify you, and does not store your holdings on any server.

Where your data lives

Your holdings, portfolio history snapshots, license key, display currency, and column preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage. Clearing your browser data will erase them.

Third-party requests

Live crypto prices are fetched from Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. FX rates are fetched from open.er-api.com. These requests contain no personal information — only the coin symbols and currency codes you're viewing.

Smart Insights (AI narrative)

The optional "Analyze this view" button sends a summarised copy of your currently visible portfolio (symbols, quantities, values, gains) to an AI provider to generate a narrative. This is the only feature that transmits your holdings off-device, and it only runs when you click the button.
